Chasing Sunflower
The project expresses a deep sense of melancholy, as the dead sunflowers, which normally give the feeling of warmth and light, symbolize the end, stagnation, and passing of time. The boy anxiously running through the lifeless field embodies uncertainty and inner anxiety, reflecting the fear of the future and the struggle for progress. His movements suggest a tension between going and hesitation as if caught between the desire for change and the comfort of the familiar. He wants a better future, he wants a sunflower, and he has to make a decision. The contrast between his vulnerability and his rigid, rotten surroundings reinforces the feeling of being trapped in a cycle of doubt, longing, and fear of what lies ahead.
