This piece is a monotype of "Fragments of Introspection", as it is one of several monotypes from my series called "Introspettiva", which the artist created in Italy in 2022 during a semester exchange. The monotype technique offers freedom of movement, with each print being unique. Printed on Fabriano Rosaspina paper using plexiglass and ink designed for graphic prints, it captures a sense of individuality in every piece.
She chose this artwork to reflect her feelings of inferiority towards the works created outside her homeland, compared to those made before her experience abroad. This period profoundly influenced both her artistic and mental growth.
In this series, most of the time, only one figure appears, and in this piece, its shadow is also included. The shadow that stays and thinks, stays and flies, stays and fades, thinking, when will I leave?
