Il luogo dei pensieri
Il luogo dei pensieri is a picture conceived and taken at the most easterly point in Italy and is located close to the narrowest part of the Canale di Otranto, which divides the Ionian Sea from the Adriatic Sea and Italy from Albania.
This "non-place" becomes a suspended space in time, a corner where thought emerges and the individual encounters the self. It is a place that is physically real, yet enveloped in an atmosphere of stillness, anticipation, and contemplation.
The benches, while being concrete elements, are transformed into a symbol of introspection, a boundary point between the visible and the invisible, between reality and imagination. The sea behind them suggests the infinite, the unknown, a horizon that invites reflection and loss of self in thoughts.
Choosing an analog camera to narrate this project is an act of care, a meticulous and conscious choice. It is an art that values waiting, observing, and letting the right moment unfold. Here, there is no room for haste, for the unstoppable snap; there is only the breath of time, the patience to catch the perfect instant, the one that is revealed only to those who know how to wait. In this way, analog photography becomes a ritual, an invitation to inhabit the present with care and to savor every detail before it fades away.
